Guilty Gear -Strive- Second Open Beta Begins May 13 on PS4 and PS5

Guilty Gear Strive

Arc System Works have announced the dates and times for the second open beta of Guilty Gear -Strive-.

Exclusive to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 (with crossplay), the beta can be downloaded May 7th (8:00 a.m. PT), and begins May 13th at 8 p.m. PT. The open beta concludes on May 16th at 7:59 a.m. PT. Those who participated in the prior Open Beta will find it will be updated to the new client automatically.

The Open Beta will allow access to Versus Mode against CPUs and other players, Tutorial and Training modes, and Online Matches. However, Player Matches with player created rooms will not be available.

Playable characters include Sol, Ky, May, Axl, Chipp, Potemkin, Faust, Millia, Zato, Ramlethal, Leo, Nagoriyuki, Giovanna, Anji, and I-No. The characters have also undergone balancing thanks to feedback from the February open beta.

Changes include the same moves being used a number of times in a combo causing the opponent to fall more quickly, general adjustments to aerial actions (gaining recovery on landing for most of them, but jumps and air dashes covering less distance), and command normal forward P becoming an anti-air attack.

Other changes from the last beta include players being able to select a Duel Station to queue up for battles, and a rematch function. In the Rank Tower can be done up to three times, or until either player’s recommended floor changes; while in Open Park, rematches can be offered as many times as both players agree.

Matches will also show values or ping, rollback frames; and are encouraged to be included in any report or feedback on errors encountered during online matches.
