90s Game Gear shmup Griffin gets modern re-release

Co-publishers Ratalaika Games and Shinyuden and developer Edia have announced a modern re-release for Griffin, the classic 1991 shmup developed by Telenet Japan for the Sega Game Gear.

Griffin is now available for Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, PS4, and PS5. The Xbox versions support Smart Delivery and the PlayStation versions support cross-buy. This is the first time the game has been released outside Japan.

  • Rewind/Fast-forward: The player can use the rewind or fast-forward functions to complete the mission perfectly.
  • Saving Option: The player can save its progress anytime/anywhere and restart the game.
  • Optional Screen Filter: Retro, Black-White, and more filtering functions.
  • Art Gallery: Manuals and package design for the original version are available.
  • Cheat Mode: Make the gameplay easier with cheat mode (infinity life, invincible etc.)
  • Jukebox: You can play the in-game music (5 tracks) at any time.
