Gravity Rush 2 is Being Developed for Playstation Vita [UPDATE]

[UPDATE: We originally reported on the game being developed for PS Vita. This has since been proven to be a mistaken response as the sequel’s platform is unconfirmed, and we have provided an updated post here.]

Previously, we reported on Gravity Rush creator Keiichiro Toyama teasing further news regarding the upcoming (featured above) Gravity Rush project.

Up until now, we still haven’t known whether or not this is a sequel or an entirely new game, or as some PS Vita fans have feared – a Playstation 4 port of the original game.

Now, some news for the upcoming project has come from a very unlikely source – Ask Playstation. A fan posed the question:

“Hello Mr. Yoshida. I have a questions. You know something about Gravity Daze 2? Console? Release Date? Something? Thanks. @yosp #psvita”

To which Ask Playstation shocked/pleased many fans with a pretty blunt response, including myself:

“@AdherleyCruzO Yes, it is designed for the PS Vita.”

So there you have it, the game is definitely being designed for Playstation Vita – although we still don’t know whether or not this is a full fledged sequel. However, it’s worth noting that Mr. Ortiz did ask if Gravity Daze 2 is coming to PS Vita.

So what do you guys think? Wonderful news?

That’s good. Kind of feel guilty for getting the first one free, but it was a pretty cool and unique Action game.

They just really have to fix the targeting, the combat, and maybe make it a wee bit longer. Though I’m sure people got a lot more mileage out of the extra content than I did, I don’t recall even doing the classic collect-a-thoning.

Tried the demo for the first one, didn’t care for it.

I love the first one. It definitely had issues and is no where near perfect but the gameplay was such a great concept that worked really well.

Some heavy news here. I’m flying with joy. Can’t wait to get back in that world.

    God damn I can’t wait.
This news made my day – nay, made my year. I love Gravity Rush (Even though it was on the short side and the ending was horrible) and I can’t wait for the sequel.

YES, I was so afraid they wouldn’t make another one!

If they fix the repetitive and slightly unwieldy combat, it’ll be a 10/10 for me. The only thing holding it back was that I got bored too easily during fights; it was basically like playing Divekick, since that’s all I ended up ever doing.

A new VITA game… Why does such news sound so refreshing?

Looking forward to future news leading up to the release of the game. Hopefully SCEA can get it together and put in some effort in advertising the game. They sat on their asses with Freedom Wars ( which is a fantastic game ). Lets hope they dont do the same with Gravity Rush 2.

I’m still hoping for an update or even a re-release of the original game that makes motion control optional. It’s practically the only incentive I have to get a portable Vita when I already have a Vita TV.
