Following their fan-survey conducted back in April of this year, GungHo Online Entertainment America has announced (via GameSpot) that Grandia II is making a return on PC, via Steam.

The game is being remastered for Steam based upon the Dreamcast original, which launched back in 2000. The new Steam version will come with the usual visual upgrade, as well as mouse+keyboard and gamepad support, and even Steam achievements and Trading Cards.

GungHo Online Entertainment is publishing the game on Steam, and they made a point in saying the demand for Grandia II was “overwhelming,” so they decided to begin their ports on Steam with that game.

“With the rise of digital downloads, it is especially important that classic games continue to remain available to play in some form,” said president of GungHo America Jun Iwasaki. “Grandia II was chosen for a PC re-release because it represents both a hallmark of the Grandia series and an example of how great JRPGs can be.”
