A new rumor claims Rockstar Games, who is actively working on Grand Theft Auto 6, has made adjustments not only for the workplace but also their video games.
According to the rumor (via Bloomberg), after a few blunders in recent years including the unpublished “Cops ‘N’ Crooks” mode for GTA Online and the removal of “transphobic” jokes from the Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar has made internal changes to its company.
Besides narrowing the gender pay gap, Rockstar is also claimed to have made one of the main protagonists of Grand Theft Auto 6 a female, a franchise first. The new main character will be one of the supposed two main characters in a story similar to the bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde.
It is also rumored along with these changes that the developer team is being cautious not to “punch down” by making jokes about “marginalized groups”, which is a stark contrast from the previous entries in the franchise. Again, these are all rumors as more information comes out from known sources with some healthy skepticism attached.
Grand Theft Auto V is the second best selling video game of all time with 165 million copies sold. It’s also spawned Role Playing servers and streams as a result of its ongoing success and wide availability on virtually every console besides Nintendo consoles.
