Sony Pictures has shared the first teaser trailer for their upcoming Gran Turismo movie alongside confirming its premiere date at CES 2023.

While the movie just began filming a few months ago, its premiere is now set for August 11th – as confirmed by director Neill Blomkamp prior to revealing the new trailer.

The film is based on a true story where teenager Jann Mardenborough played Gran Turismo enough to actually became a real-life race driver. After winning numerous game tournaments, he entered GT Academy, a UK TV series made to foster young drivers.

The main cast for the Gran Turismo movie includes Archie Madekwe, David Harbour, Orlando Bloom, and even Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice).

The latest game in the series, Gran Turismo 7, launched earlier this year and is available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. You can check out our review for it here.
