Previously we reported on Gran Turismo 7 possibly getting a PC port – as the game remains exclusive to PlayStation consoles.
Series creator Kazunori Yamauchi made a statement that hinted the latest in their racing franchise might be finally coming to PC.
This brought about hopes for some fans that Gran Turismo 7 might be seeing a port to PC. However, the racing boss has now shut down these rumors, which all started after his original statements.
“That’s not true,” Yamauchi said to Dengeki (via @Genki_JPN) when asked whether or not Polyphony Digital are developing a PC version of Gran Turismo.
“[…] Simply, if you ask me ‘are you doing anything concrete?’ I am not doing anything. There is nothing to talk about,” he added, confirming there is no Gran Turismo 7 PC port development being done right now.
While this doesn’t rule out the series coming to PC, it does confirm that not only are they not working on a PC port, but that a PC port will not be arriving anytime soon. So those hoping for Gran Turismo on the PC will be disappointed for the long wait.
In other news, the franchise has celebrated its 25th anniversary alongside the announcement that the series has reached over 90 million lifetime sales. A film based on the video game is also currently filming and set to release next year.
