Gotham Knights gets new trailer introducing Red Hood

Gotham Knighs

Publisher Warner Bros. Games and developer WB Games Montreal shared a new trailer for Gotham Knights, introducing another main character.

Today’s trailer gives us a look into the character Red Hood, check it out below:

Red Hood has made his mark for the upcoming Gotham Knights game, bringing his trademark edginess and arsenal of firearms. Jason Todd wants to carry on Bruce Wayne’s legacy and rid Gotham City of the filth that infests the streets. Red Hood’s powers combined with his weaponry are looking to create a whomping good time.

Red Hood was originally Jason Todd, a character created in the early 1980s to take over the mantle of Robin from Dick Grayson, who had gone on to become Nightwing. The character was not well received by fans and in 1988 was killed off by a telephone poll for the comic “A Death in the Family”, one of the most iconic Batman comics ever created.

Todd came back in 2005 with the “Under the Hood” storyline which saw him resurrected as the violent antihero, Red Hood. Red Hood, as a character, takes the extra step that he believed Batman could not take, and actually murdered those who he believed to be the scum of the Earth.

Gotham Knights is perhaps my most anticipated game of 2022, I have been craving a new Batman Arkham game, and WB Games Montréal have the knowledge to make a great one after their work on the Batman Arkham Origins game.

It is important to note that Gotham Knights does not take place in the same world as the Arkham games and is a completely new storyline following Batman’s old partners as they seek to carry on his legacy after his death.

So, I’ll be sad not to even Kevin Conroy’s amazing voice in my ears, but I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us next. I am also interested to see how this character dynamic plays out in Gotham Knights when the game releases in October of this year.

Gotham Knights is set to launch on October 25th across Windows PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
