Google has released their trends list for 2023, including the top 10 most popular searches in a variety of categories including video games.
2023 was a big year for video games and included some anticipated releases that made it onto Google’s search trends.

- The Last of Us
- Connections
- Battlegrounds Mobile India
- Starfield
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Suika Game
- Diablo IV
- Atomic Heart
- Sons of the Forest
Hogwarts Legacy as the most searched game has surprised some gamers. However given the controversy that surrounded the game it only makes sense that people would be searching in order to understand what all the fuss is about.
The Last of Us kind of snuck their way onto the list since its TV adaptation was the most searched TV show this year so there’s a bit of spillage.
Other noteworthy entries on the list include Starfield, which understandably had a lot of hype before it released. You can check out our review of Starfield here.
There’s also Suika Game (スイカゲーム) which exploded in popularity partly due to VTubers like the ones from Hololive playing it on stream.
