We’ve learned (via Engadget) that Google has announced their new Twitch competitor: YouTube Gaming.
The new service is geared towards a new website and app, both of which connect users to the games they enjoy, and their respective culture and communities.
There will be more than 25,000 games having their own dedicated pages at the launch of YouTube Gaming, with each channel featuring live streams, videos, and more related to each game. You can add games to your “Collection,” which lets you keep up to date with the games you’re interested in.
You can still subscribe to channels via game publishers and YouTube creators, while YouTube will still provide you new recommendations based upon your subscriptions. The biggest emphasis, however, are the live streams on YouTube Gaming. The live streams will reportedly support high frame rate streaming, up to 60FPS, a DVR function, and the ability to automatically convert your live stream into a YouTube video.
You can find the hub for YouTube Gaming over on gaming.youtube.com.
