Dozens of buyers are taking to social media, claiming that their payment information has been stolen by malicious actors after buying from Good Smile, an online anime merch retailer and manufacturer.

Good Smile is known for its ease of use for international users, and its wide selection of products ranging from figurines based on anime, video games, and even indie animation like The Amazing Digital Circus.

Users have been reporting suspicious activity after shopping at Good Smile over the past month. Buyers have associated the fraudulent charges with purchases made on Good Smile ranging as far back as three weeks ago to as recently as a few days.

Anyone who’s shopped at Good Smile recently is encouraged to:

• Check their recent bank statements and account activity
• Freeze or order new cards if fraudulent activity is detected
• Consider using alternative payment methods in the future.

At the time of writing, the Good Smile website is undergoing “scheduled maintenance”, hopefully to address the concerns consumers are having. So far, Good Smile has not released a statement about the alleged data breach.
