The second half of Golden Kamuy season 4 will be delayed in the wake of a staff member’s untimely passing. The announcement was made through the official Twitter account for the series.

Golden Kamuy follows the adventure of the war veteran “Sugimoto the Immortal” on his search for gold in Hokkaido. His only clue to the gold is a map tattooed on the skin of escaped convicts and the young Ainu girl Asirpa who acts as his guide.

Along the way, Sugimoto and Asirpa meet a cast of colorful and often criminally insane characters who are either searching for the gold as well, or just get caught up in their mess.

The series takes place in the early 20th century, shortly after the Russo-Japanese war, at the time Hokkaido was largely untamed but the Japanese government pushed to establish their influence there to prevent impending Russian colonization of the island.

The 4th season for the series premiered last month. The name of the staff member who passed has not been released.
