Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment have officially titled the next movie in their ever-expanding monsterverse.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is the fifth film in their growing monster movie franchise and is now set to premiere in exclusively in theaters on March 15th, 2024 (thanks, THR).

Adam Wingard is returning to direct the Godzilla vs. Kong sequel with returning actors Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, and Kaylee Hottle. New castings include Dan Stevens, Fala Chen and Rachel House.

While the previous film had Godzilla and King Kong directly battling each other for supremacy – this new sequel will have both titanic titans “team up to face a world-ending threat so terrifying that neither could survive alone,” according to its official synopsis.

Godzilla vs. Kong was one of the first successful big film releases during the covid-19 pandemic, when people were allowed to go see movies in theaters again. It grossed $470 million at the box office.
