While God Hand has seen release on the Playstation Network as a Playstation 2 classic, it has yet to be taken to other current generation platforms. This may not be what fans of God Hand have been waiting for, but it’s a potentially exciting new development for the classic fighter to say the least.
In a response to fan demand for the title on PC, Gregaman, a Capcom employee, has shed some hopeful light on the subject. He wrote a rather enthusiastic comment, although it’s far from an actual confirmation for a Steam release:
“While I would LOVE to see this become available on Steam, let’s get one thing clear: The existing version of GOD HAND is already the ultimate edition.
I can’t really comment one way or another on hypothetical products, but if there’s demand for this, please keep vocalizing it. I think title recognition is still relatively low for this game on a mainstream level, but I do personally think it’d be a great grab on Steam, where there’s a very savvy (and big) consumer base.”
God Hand is the swan song from Clover Studios, a talented Japanese development studio that closed a year after the game was released world wide. If you haven’t played the game before, check out our retrospective on it here.
