God Eater Anime Scheduled for Summer, Rage Burst Character And Weapon Unveiled

Bandai Namco have released a promotional video for God Eater, which takes us through all of the God Eater highlights so far, and ends with a message that an anime adapation will be coming this summer. You can watch the video above.

Ufotable will be producing the God Eater TV anime. Takayuki Hirao (Texhnolyze, Futakoi Alternative, Highschool of the Dead) will direct, Keita Shimizu (Tales of Phantasia, ToHeart2) will be responsible for character designs, and Gou Shiina (Kyousogiga, God Eater, God Eater 2) will create the music.

The anime will air this summer. You can check out the official website here.

New screenshots and information have also been revealed for the action roleplaying game. In order, the images above are of:

  • Rivi Koretto (voiced by Hisako Kanemoto), a character new to the franchise, who is able to adapt to other characters’ shinki;
  • a new, expandable weapon, the Variant Scythe;
  • the new “Blood Rage” mechanic;
  • and a new monster included with the updated game.

If you missed it, an official trailer for the game with English subtitles is here. You can also see more screenshots and artwork for Rage Burst here.

A localization of God Eater 2 Rage Burst has been all but confirmed for Europe, between the trademark and the English-subtitled video, but no schedule has been announced yet. The game will be launching in Japan on February 19 for both the Playstation 4 and Vita.

Thanks to Dengeki and Anime News Network.

[Editor’s note: we wrote that a European localization for Rage Burst had been “confirmed”. It should have read “all but confirmed”, and now does.]
