Gladiator sequel sets November 2024 premiere date

Gladiator sequel

Ridley Scott’s big Gladiator sequel is finally happening, and it just set a premiere date set for next year.

Paramount Pictures announced the new premiere date (via Variety) is set for November 22nd, 2024. As covered in our previous report, Ridley Scott is returning to direct and Paul Mescal is in negotiations to star as Lucius.

Details on the sequel are scant but we do know it will be a direct sequel with Mescal playing the role of Lucius, the son of Lucilla – Maximus’ original lover and both of whom he saved from the corrupt Emperor Commodus.

Scott is directing and producing the sequel alongside his Scott Free Productions president Michael Pruss, as well as Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher from Red Wagon Entertainment. Other key returning staff are costume designer Janty Yates and production designer Arthur Max.
