• GKIDS Acquires North American Video and Theatrical Distribution Rights for Neon Genesis Evangelion

    American film distributor GKIDS has announced their acquisition of the home video and theatrical rights to the series Neon Genesis Evangelion.

    GKIDS announced the acquisition in a recent Tweet and also confirmed that a Blu-Ray Ultimate Edition will also be released. The Ultimate Edition looks similar to the one announced by UK distributor All The Anime earlier this year which we reported on previously.

    Features for the upcoming Blu-Ray Ultimate Edition include all 26 episodes of the original anime series, and two movies; Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death(true)² and The End of Evangelion. This will be the first time that Neon Genesis Evangelion will be available on Blu-Ray in North America.

    The Blu-Ray Ultimate Edition of Neon Genesis Evangelion will release sometime next year.
