Girls’ Frontline Anime Rescheduled for 2022

Girls Frontline

The anime adaptation of the Chinese mobile game Girls’ Frontline has been rescheduled for 2022.

After originally being announced for release this year, the anime adaptation of Girls’ Frontline has been rescheduled for sometime in 2022.

The upcoming anime is being produced by Warner Bros. Japan and animated by Asahi Production. Asahi Production is known for their previous work on HimegotoPan de Peace!, and multiple Sanrio properties such as Sugarbunnies and Hello Kitty.

Girls’ Frontline takes place in a post-apocalyptic future where wars are fought with combat androids called “tactical dolls” (shortened to T-Dolls). The world is largely uninhabitable by humanity thanks to a substance known as Collapse Fluid, thus necessitating the use of these dolls in warfare.

In the game, players take on the role of a manager with the private military contractor Grifon & Kryuger. The company has been hired to fight against a renegade AI called Sangvis Ferri, which has killed its human masters and taken over strategic locales on Earth.
