Gina Carano sues Disney for wrongful termination with support from Elon Musk

Gina Carano

Gina Carano has officially filed suit against Disney and LucasFilm for discrimination and wrongful termination over her removal from Star Wars: The Mandalorian.

As part of the lawsuit, Carano’s legal support is being funded by Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter). When Musk took control of the platform, he promised to aid individuals who were fired or otherwise discriminated against for their conduct on Twitter.

Carano alleges that she was fired for posting right-wing talking points on the social media site. In particular, one post where she likened being Republican to being Jewish during the Holocaust.

Furthermore, Carano alleges that other actors weren’t held to the same standard so long as their opinions were left of center. For example Pedro Pascal compared Donald Trump to Hitler back in 2017, a situation that isn’t exactly the same but Carano may feel it illustrates her point.

Carno played Carasynthia “Cara” Dune in The Mandalorian, a woman from Alderaan and a marshal in the New Republic.

Carano is allegedly seeking a court order to be recast in The Mandalorian, alongside no less than $75,000 USD, plus punitive damages.
