Ahead of the launch of Ghostrunner 2, developer One More Level has announced its predecessor has managed to reach over the 2.5 million sales milestone.

According to the team, they had planned on celebrating it reaching just 2 million, but sales had “quickly jumped” before they managed to do so.

The sales jump was attributed to the anticipation of the upcoming sequel, which is meant to launch next month.

Ghostrunner launched back on October 27, 2020 for various platforms with ports to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S later in 2021. Meanwhile Ghostrunner 2 is set to launch on October 26, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store).

With sales figures like this for the first game and anticipation for its sequel coming in merely a month. Publisher 505 Games are certainly happy they managed to pick up the IP for a bargain at just €5 million.
