Another Ghostbusters Game is Definitely Happening, Says Ernie Hudson

Another Ghostbusters Game

Another Ghostbusters game is definitely happening, news revealed by Winston Zeddemore actor Ernie Hudson in a recent fan event Q&A.

The news that another Ghostbusters game is happening came from the Celebrity Fan Fest 2021 expo in San Antonio, Texas (via Countdown City Geeks and Ghostbusters News). Hudson was a guest at the panel and confirmed a new game is actually coming.

I just got an e-mail, because we’re doing another video game,” Hudson said. “They’re scheduling it now to do the recording, and I’m not too sure who going to do it, I know me and Danny (Dan Aykroyd), I think. I’m not sure about Billy (Bill Murray) will do anything on it. So, there will be another video game.”

Hudson added, “When they’ll bring it out, I don’t know, but it’s definitely happening.” Whichever studio is working on the game have been apparently sending him prototype models of his character to get approval, but noted they’re having a hard time making his model look right.

“It’s so weird to me that they can get Bill Murray, and Dan Aykroyd, and Harold Ramis to look exactly like they look, but I end up looking like Eddie Murphy or somebody,” Hudson said.

The last major game based on the franchise was the 2009-released Ghostbusters: The Video Game, which featured the original four Ghostbusters as they fought ghosts with a newcomer, the player protagonist. The game was remastered a decade later and released in 2019, but it seems like developer Saber Interactive has mostly released it as a one-and-done thing.

Predator: Hunting Grounds and Friday the 13th: The Game developer Illfonic is possibly the studio behind the new game, as their co-founder Raphael Saadiq let slp that they were working on a Ghostbusters game.

We’ll keep you guys posted.
