Nexon has confirmed that Ghost in the Shell Online, their upcoming online shooter based off the acclaimed cyberpunk series, is launching in the United States first.
The news was confirmed in a new video walkthrough and interview (via Forbes), which you can view below:
The various staff from Neople (who are also known for Dungeon Fighter Online) confirm the game’s early United States release, although it will come to other regions later. To be clear, the testing is being conducted in Korea, while the debut release is going to be here in America.
Neople tout the game as having over 5000 combinations of cybernetic builds, meaning that players will have a staggering amount of choice when making their preferred type of cyborg. The above video is worth a view even just for the new gameplay alone, although the spoken language is mostly Korean.
The game is based off the Stand Alone Complex anime series, and the developers at Neople also had some help from the folks at Production I.G., the studio that handled the original Stand Alone Complex anime (as well as the new anime movie coming this summer).
A release date for thGhost in the Shell Online has not been confirmed – but we’ll keep you guys posted.
