Counter-Strike is generally the kind of game that we never talk about here on Niche Gamer, but recently a mod that has been lovingly worked on slaved away at for years is finally available on Steam in the form of NeoTokyo.

The multiplayer mod creates an entirely new world within the Source engine, and despite the trailer (and in game assets) above being several years old, it still shines brilliantly with its own theme and feel.

The resulting gameplay mechanics have been painstakingly tweaked into near infinity to give you an incredibly deep yet accessible shooter that most paid experiences can’t even deliver – yes, as this is a mod, it’s completely free.
