Marvelous AQL has shown off yet another new trailer for Dekamori Senran Kagura, this time teasing the true story behind why the girls have decided to postpone the beatdown on each other in lieu of having a cooking battle – a very good question that has remained unanswered since the game’s reveal.

Apparently, the reason why the ninja girls went from brawling each other to competing in a cooking competition, the answer lies in the grand prize of the cooking tournament is a ninja scroll that can totally change the balance of power in the world. The reason why this scroll is being pawned off in a cooking contest has not been revealed, but this is surely part of the main story.

A total of 22 girls from the series will be competing in the cooking  tournament, and they’ll be displaying their prowess in the rhythm cooking styled gameplay. Each battle is eventually judged by Asuka’s grandfather, Hanzo, and the loser will be humiliated by having their clothes torn to pieces.

If you managed to get your hands on Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus and any of its downloadable content, that DLC will carry over into Dekamori Senran Kagura, which launches on March 20th.
