We’ve learned that Nintendo is releasing a limited edition 3DS XL for their upcoming Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer.
The news was confirmed during their Nintendo Direct broadcast this morning. The Japan-confirmed unit will set you back 22,000 yen, and will launch alongside the game’s newly confirmed Japanese release date of July 30th. The game is powered by Amiibo-cards, which allow you to scan in houses of animals that you can then decorate.
While the game itself will cost 4,000 yen, the NFC-powered Amiibo Reader/Writer will be sold separately for 2,500 yen, or in a 5,000 yen bundle. The pictured Amiibo cards will come with the limited edition 3DS XL, as well as the reader, or the reader bundle.
