Genshin Impact Update 1.5 ‘Beneath the Light of Jadeite’ Now Live, PS5 Version Now Available

Genshin Impact Yanfei

MiHoYo have released the 1.5 Beneath the Light of Jadeite update for their gacha action-RPG, Genshin Impact.

Beneath the Light of Jadeite sees the release of Yanfei, a new 4-star Pyro Catalyst spellcaster. Yanfei is a half-human, half-illuminated beast, that works as a legal advisor in Liyue.

In battle she flings fireballs at her enemies, and each hit generates a Scarlet Seal charge to reduce her stamina consumption. These Scarlet Seals can be consumed to increase the power of her charged attacks. Her Elemental Skill deals AoE Pyro damage before topping off her Scarlet Seals.

Meanwhile, her Elemental Burst deals a Pyro blast, regenerates her Scarlet Seals, and applies Brilliance to passively regenerate her Scarlet Seals- and increases her charged attack damage for a time. As an added bonus, Yanfei has uses during exploration, and will highlight nearby Liyue specialties on your minimap.

You can find the new trailer detailing Yanfei below.

Yanfei is available in the Gentry of Hermitage limited time wish banner, which also sees the return of the 5-star character Zhongli. Other highlights of the banner include the 4-star characters Diona and Noelle. The second limited banner in 1.5 will introduce Eula, a new 5-star character, and will go live in a few weeks.

Update 1.5 adds a variety of other new content as well, including the continuation of the Zhongli story quest chain, new Hangout events for Diona and Noelle, a new Trounce Domain with a pair of new artifact sets, and the Cryo Hypostasis boss located in Dragonspine.

It also brings the A Teapot to Call Home event. This quest will give players access to the Serenitea Pot, which acts as player housing. Players can collect resources in the world to craft buildings and decorations for their house inside the pot, which can also be populated with characters the player has acquired. Players can also invite friends into their pot to hang out.

More events and content will be added in May as part of the 1.5 update.

MiHoYo also released the PlayStation 5 version of Genshin Impact alongside the new update. The PlayStation 5 version features higher resolution textures, improved performance, 4K support, and faster load times.

Genshin Impact is available and free-to-play on Windows PC (via the official website), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Android, iOS, and coming soon to Nintendo Switch. In case you missed it, you can find our review here (we recommend it!)
