We’ve learned the Genshin Impact Switch port is still coming, although we haven’t heard about it in years.
Back in 2020, it was announced that the Nintendo Switch port for Genshin Impact would be released, but at the time no date was given.
Now we’re in 2022 and not only is there still no planned release date, but little information about this port has come out. So little that there has even been speculation of the port being canceled.
As it turns out, that isn’t the case. GoNintendo got an update from developer miHoYo to find out what has happened to the port of the game. Apparently, the Genshin Impact Switch port is still coming:
“The Switch version is still in development, and we will release more information as we progress further along,” miHoYo said in a statement.
Of course, this is still very little information and still tells us nothing about the anticipated release date for the port. Though for those who thought this got canceled and were disappointed with that thought can be somewhat glad that things are not yet over for this port.
Due to the lack of information, it is not known as to what has caused such a delay in the release of the port. During the time between the announcement that the Nintendo Switch would be getting Genshin Impact to now, there has been a port released for PS5.
They’ve also definitely made more than enough money to fund a Genshin Impact Switch port. We just that Genshin Impact surpassed $3 billion in revenue on just their mobile versions alone.
At the same time though, it’s also been reported that the 2.7 update for the game has been delayed indefinitely. With coronavirus fears and lockdown occurring in China during this time, it is also expected that work on the Genshin Impact Switch port has suffered from the same setbacks as the plans for their new update.
