Genshin Impact is the most tweeted about game of 2022 thus far

Genshin Impact

Earlier this month, Rishi Chadha, Twitter’s Head of creator and Gaming Content Partnerships, posted a blogpost breaking down the top 10 games that were tweeted about so far in the first half of 2022.

Sitting at the top of that list is Genshin Impact once again. When looking at the list of games that sit on the top of the list, Chadha posted this infographic with the breakdowns of the top 10 titles:

Genshin Impact sits well on the top of the list with Wordle in second place. Elden Ring has taken up a healthy position in 7th place as well, sandwiched between Apex Legends and Fate Go, not a bad place for this behemoth to rest at.

Along with the top games tweeted about over the last six months, Risha Chadha also posted the top 10 countries that tweeted about video games, and the listen should come as very little surprise to anyone:

Japan takes first place in tweets related to video games, which is exactly why my Twitter Trends are set to Japan.

Twitter has reportedly seen a 36% increase in twitter engagement with video games between 2021 and 2022 and Chadha attributes that to juggernaut titles like Elden Ring, as well the events like the Xbox Showcase, PlayStation State of Play, and Summer Game Fest.

If you want to read his entire break down, you can right here.

Genshin Impact is available and free-to-play on Windows PC (via the Epic Games Store and official website), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, AndroidiOS, and coming soon to Nintendo Switch. In case you missed it, you can find our Genshin Impact review here (we recommend it!).
