Genshin Impact dropping PS4 service over hardware limitations

Genshin Impact

Developer miHoYo has announced they’re ending support for Genshin Impact on PlayStation 4, due to limitations the hardware is now experiencing.

Genshin Impact will end service on September 10th, “due to limitations related to hardware performance and platform application size.” The PS5 version will naturally not be affected by this change of service.

Here’s a rundown on the schedule for Genshin Impact shutting down on PS4:

  • Game Removal – Starting from 09/10/2025 06:00 (UTC+8), Genshin Impact on PS4 will be removed from the PlayStation Store. After this date, accounts of PlayStation Network that have never downloaded Genshin Impact on PS4 will no longer be able to search for or download it via the PlayStation Store.
  • In-Game Purchases Delisting – Starting from 02/25/2026 06:00 (UTC+8), all in-game purchases for Genshin Impact on PS4 will be removed from both the PlayStation Store and the in-game shop.
  • End of Update Support – Starting from 04/08/2026 06:00 (UTC+8), we will officially cease all update support for Genshin Impact on PS4. Traveler will no longer be able to log in to the game on PS4.

Genshin Impact has been available on Windows PC (via the Epic Games Store and official website), Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, AndroidiOS, and coming soon to Nintendo Switch. Check out our review here!
