MiHoYo have released a new Genshin Impact costume trailer focusing on a pair of new outfits for the characters Keqing and Ningguang.

Character skins have been around in miHoYo’s previous gacha games for a while now, but they are still a very new concept for Genshin Impact. The first set of skins were a pair of summer outfits for Barbara and Jean. Those released way back in the 1.6 update that acted as the game’s big summer event. The upcoming 2.4 “Fleeting Colors in Flight” update will add the game’s next set of outfits. Much like the previous set, one will be a freebie while the other will be a premium cosmetic.

Both Keqing and Ningguang will be getting fancy evening dresses to celebrate Liyue’s Lantern Rite festival. The Lantern Rite is Liyue’s largest festival, and is heavily inspired by Chinese New Year. This will be the second year that Genshin Impact celebrates Lantern Rite.

Much like last time, players will be able to partake in various story quests, games, and events. The main story quest will revolve around helping Ningguang rebuild her opulent Jade Chamber. Rewards during the Lantern Rite include 10 Intertwined Fates, one free 4-star Liyue character (including one of the update’s brand-new characters, Yun Jin), various upgrade materials, and Ningguang’s new outfit. Meanwhile, Keqing’s new outfit will be discounted during the event.
