Genshin Impact gets new trailer introducing Collei, the Forest Watcher trainee

Genshin Impact

HoYoverse have released a new Genshin Impact trailer for Collei, one of the new characters that was recently added to the popular gacha action-RPG.

Collei is a 4-star archer that was added in Genshin Impact‘s recent 3.0 update, and one of the game’s first playable Dendro characters. While she was first formally introduced to many players in Sumeru’s new Archon Quest storyline, she has actually been around for a while in the greater Genshin Impact lore, with multiple chapters of the webcomic devoted to her tragic backstory and relationship with fellow 4-star archer, Amber.

Collei is a trainee with Sumeru’s Forest Watchers, guardians that patrol the lush tropical rainforests of Sumeru. They are tasked with helping out travelers that get into trouble, maintaining the roads throughout the rainforests, researching Sumeru’s diverse flora and fauna, and monitoring the ecosystem. Collei is one of the first new characters Travelers encounter in the latest Archon Quest, and a sizable chunk of the first part of the story is devoted to her and her mentor, Tighnari.

Collei’s Elemental Skill throws a Dendro-infused boomerang that flies forward before returning to her, dealing damage to any enemies along the way. Should any character in your party trigger an Elemental Reaction while her Floral Ring is traveling, it will activate the Sprout effect, which deals Dendro damage to nearby enemies for a set duration that scales with Collei’s ATK stat.

For her Elemental Burst, Collei throws her cute companion Cuilein-Anbar, dealing Dendro damage in a wide AoE for a set duration of time. Much like her Elemental Skill, Collei’s Burst has an extra effect if your party triggers Elemental Reactions while the attack is going on. If you trigger any of the Dendro-related Reactions within Cuilein-Anbar’s zone, the Burst’s duration will be extended.

You can see Collei’s skills in action for yourself below:

Collei, along with her mentor Tighnari, are currently available in Genshin Impact‘s first round of limited time character banners for the new update. Travelers can also get Collei for free by completing 3.0’s limited time event in Port Ormos.

Genshin Impact is available and free-to-play on Windows PC (via the Epic Games Store and official website), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, AndroidiOS, and coming soon to Nintendo Switch. In case you missed it, you can find our Genshin Impact review here (we recommend it!).
