MiHoYo have released a gameplay trailer showcasing Kaedehara Kazuha, the latest character added to their gacha action-RPG, Genshin Impact.
Kaedehara Kazuha is a 5-star Anemo sword-wielder, and the latest character added as part of the 1.6 update. Kazuha is the first playable character from Inazuma, and was introduced in the new Autumn Winds, Scarlet Leaves Archon Quest that builds up to the Inazuma arc of the game’s storyline. He will apparently play a fairly large role in the upcoming Inazuma story quests.
Kazuha’s Elemental Skill, Chihayaburu, has a variety of possible uses based on if you tapped or held the button to cast it. If tapped, the skill generates a gust of wind that knocks enemies away, and launches Kazuha into the air. If held, it disperses the effects over a wider area.
When Kazuha is sent airborne as a result of the skill, he can perform a powered up plunge attack that creates a wind tunnel that continuously sucks enemies into its center. This skill can be performed while airborne as well, allowing it to act like a double jump during exploration.
Chihayaburu also has a talent attached to it that, when unlocked, can absorb other elements (Pyro, Electro, Hydro, or Cryo); and add them to the effects of the skill’s wind burst.
Kazuha’s Elemental Burst, Kazuha Slash, deals AoE Anemo damage, and then summons the Autumn Whirlwind field. While in this field, enemies will periodically take Anemo damage. His burst can also absorb any Pyro, Electro, Hydro, or Cryo effects it comes into contact with; dispersing them across the field.
Kazuha has some other useful utility skills as well. He reduces sprint stamina consumption while in your party, and whenever Kazuha generates a Swirl Elemental Reaction, all party members gain a damage boost for attacks of the corresponding element. This damage boost scales based on Kazuha’s Elemental Mastery stat.
You can see Kaedehara Kazuha’s skills in action in the trailer below.
Kaedehara Kazuha is now available in the Leaves in the Wind limited time character wish banner. The banner also features increased pull rates for the 4-star characters Rosaria, Bennett, and Razor.
