MiHoYo have released a new trailer showcasing Eula, the latest character to be added to their gacha action-RPG, Genshin Impact.
The new trailer summarizes much of what was previously reported [1, 2], but provides more information on the intricacies of her battle abilities. It also reveals a new Talent level-up skill.
Eula is the second character to be added in Update 1.5, which launched at the end of April. She is a descendant of the Lawrence clan, one of Mondstadt’s three major ruling families. The clan were once the tyrannical rulers, but were overthrown by a rebellion that would later become the Knights of Favonius.
Despite her family’s dark past, Eula later joined the Knights of Favonius and became the captain of the Reconnaissance Company. She vows to eventually get revenge on the Knights and other ruling families of Mondstadt to restore her clan’s reputation, though her honorable and kind demeanor raises questions about if her revenge will ever truly happen.
Eula is a 5-star Cryo Claymore fighter that deals high burst damage with her fancy, dance-like bladework. Her Elemental Skill deals a quick slash of Cyro damage and applies Grimheart, which can be stacked twice. Grimheart increases Eula’s defense and resistance to interrupts.
By holding the Elemental Skill button Eula can spend her stacks of Grimheart to deal a wider, more powerful AOE slash of Cryo damage. This version of the skill also reduces enemy resistances if any Grimheart stacks were consumed.
Eula’s Elemental Burst consists of a powerful, Cryo-infused AOE slash that summons a Lightfall Sword that follows her around. As Eula deals damage, the Lightfall Sword charges. After seven seconds, or when Eula leaves the field, the Lightfall Sword will explode; dealing physical damage based on its charge level.
As an added bonus, Eula also has a chance to craft extra Talent level-up materials, increasing her utility outside of combat and adventuring. You can find the new trailer showcasing Eula and her abilities below.
Eula is currently available as part of the Born of Ocean Swell limited time Character Event Wish. The banner also includes increased pull rates for the 4-star characters Xinyan, Beidou, and Xingqiu.
Genshin Impact is available and free-to-play on Windows PC (via the official website), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Android, iOS, and coming soon to Nintendo Switch. In case you missed it, you can find our review here (we recommend it!)
