miHoYo announced the Genshin Impact 2.5 update is now available, introducing Yae Miko and a variety of new events.
The highly anticipated Yae Miko has finally been released as 2.5’s new 5-star character. Yae Miko is the Guuji of Grand Narukami Shrine, as well as the editor-in-chief of the Yae Publishing House. She is a close friend of Raiden Shogun, and played a big part in Genshin Impact‘s Inazuma story quests.
Yae Miko is an Electro catalyst character that can unleash strong burst damage. Her Elemental Skill can be used up to three times to produce Sesshou Sakura totems that will deal Electro damage to nearby enemies. These totems gain damage bonuses when summoned in tight formations, with each subsequent Sesshou Sakura being stronger than the previous ones.
Yae Miko’s Elemental Burst calls down a powerful lightning bolt, dealing Electro AoE damage. If any Sesshou Sakura are on the field when her Elemental Burst is activated, they will be destroyed and call additional lightning bolts down on the target.
Yae Miko’s non-combat skill makes her better at crafting Talent materials. When she crafts Talent materials, there is a chance that she will also craft additional random Talent materials of the same rarity.
You can see Yae Miko’s skills in action in the trailer below.
Yae Miko is the highlight of Genshin Impact‘s current Everbloom Violet limited time character wish banner. The banner also features increased pull rates for the 4-star characters Diona, Fischl, and Thoma.
The Everbloom Violet banner is accompanied by a new Epitome Invocation. This weapon banner includes the brand new 5-star catalyst Kagura’s Verity, as well as the 5-star sword Primordial Jade Cutter, and the 4-star weapons Wavebreaker’s Fin, Sacrificial Sword, Rainslasher, Eye of Perception, and The Stringless.
The first half of the 2.5 update includes Yae Miko’s story quest, the continuation of Raiden Shogun’s story quest, and the Three Realms Gateway Offering event. During this new event, players will get to explore the darkest depths of Enkanomiya, using Light Realm Sigils to upgrade their Bokuso Box. This event rewards players with the exclusive Oathsworn Eye Catalyst, a Crown of Insight, upgrade materials, and Primogems.
Genshin Impact is available and free-to-play on Windows PC (via the Epic Games Store and official website), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Android, iOS, and coming soon to Nintendo Switch. In case you missed it, you can find our review here (we recommend it!)
