SNK Playmore has announced (via NeoGAF) at their EVO 2016 panel that they’re porting Garou: Mark of the Wolves to both PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.
The news was confirmed by Sony’s Senior Director of Third Party Production & Developer Relations at SIE America, Gio Corsi. An early build of the new port is playable on the floor at EVO. The game will support cross-buy, cross-play, and online multiplayer.
Garou: Mark of the Wolves was originally released in Japanese arcades back in 1999 before getting ported to the Neo Geo, and even later, the Sega Dreamcast. It’s currently available for modern platforms like the Xbox 360 (which is backwards compatible with Xbox One) and iOS.
The company’s latest upcoming release, The King of Fighters XIV, is launching for PlayStation 4 on August 23rd in North America and on August 25th in Japan. That game’s producer has even expressed interest in making a sequel to Garou: Mark of the Wolves.
