Game Developers Conference 2022 to be In-Person Event

GDC 2021

Organizers of GDC, the Game Developers Conference, have confirmed that the 2022 event will take place in-person.

As reported by VGC, the 2021 event was initially planned to be a hybrid of physical and digital events, but later became a purely digital event. Otherwise, GDC 2021 is underway, offering live streams for developer lectures, tutorials, discussions, and more; all over the development of video games.

Organizer Informa Tech confirmed that GDC 2022 will return March 21st, 2022 to March 25th; as a physical conference once again at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Submissions to present will be accepted from August 3rd, 2021 to August 31st.

“We are thrilled to be launching the most robust virtual GDC event to date,” said Informa Tech GDC organizer Katie Stern, “which offers a huge amount of unique content from across the industry and benefits from our learnings from the past more than a year of digital GDC events.”

“We also absolutely look forward to the return of GDC 2022 to San Francisco next year and for the opportunity to see this vibrant community together again in person.” No online element was discussed at the time of the announcement.
