A new rumor is making the rounds that Game Boy and Game Boy Advance emulators on Switch were leaked, suggesting Nintendo might add them to the device.
The rumors started picking up on imageboard 4chan, which then got picked up by various Twitter users like Trash_Bandatcoot, which include purportedly included four files revealing Game Boy and Game Boy Advance emulators on Switch.
The key with this supposed leak is that the files appear to be actual Nintendo Submission Package (NSP) and Nintendo Content Archive (NCA) files, which are purportedly from a Nintendo Switch dev kit.
Rumored files included the Game Boy and Game Boy Advance emulators on Switch, named Hiyoko and Sloop respectively. Both emulators are purportedly made by Nintendo Europe Research & Development, and are functional. The same team made the emulators for DS and Wii that ran on the Wii U Virtual Console, as well as the emulation behind Super Mario 3D All-Stars.
As with any of these leaks, users have been testing the supposed Game Boy and Game Boy Advance emulators on Switch with various classic ROMs mostly to success.

Game Boy and Game Boy Advance emulators on Switch
Despite the new rumors that Game Boy and Game Boy Advance emulators on Switch were leaked and previous rumors that Nintendo will eventually add Game Boy and/or Game Boy Advance games onto Switch, all of this is speculation with the above leak.
The latest classic platforms to be added to Switch – and Nintendo Switch Online – is from the Nintendo 64. This part of their subscription tier is part of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, a new tier that launched in October 2021. It adds classic Nintendo 64 alongside Sega Genesis games to Nintendo’s online service.
