While we’ve known about Galak-Z: The Dimensional since its original reveal last August, we still haven’t known when the game would finally come out. In a report from Joystiq, now we know when we can get our hands on the procedurally generated shooter, which is apparently set for a release sometime this fall.
17-Bit’s CEO Jake Kazdal told Joystiq that Galak-Z will “have to be out by this fall,” and that it will release first on Playstation 4, followed by Playstation Vita and PC, via Steam. 17-Bit are known for their previous outing, Skulls of the Shogun, and while Galak-Z is a very unique game, it does seem to have strong spiritual connections with Solar Jetman, the classic game for NES.
Galak-Z: The Dimensional features top down shooter based gameplay, and its gameplay can be compared to classic arcade shooters. “It’s not about waves of enemies,” Kazdal said. “It’s about leading shots, the AI becomes apparent as you play. We put a lot of work into the AI dodging shots and being something we don’t normally see in arcade shooters.”
