Gabe Newell hints more Valve games could come to consoles, the company co-founder and president teased in a recent event held by a school.
The news comes via a recent event where Newell was speaking at a public school in New Zealand (via r/HalfLife), where the enigmatic developer now lives.
When asked if “Steam games” would be coming to consoles, Newell said “You will.. uh.. get a better idea of that by the end of this year.” To be clear, the student asked if “Steam” would be bringing games to consoles, however Newell’s reply hinted it could be something more.
While Gabe Newell hints more Valve games could come to consoles, the last time a Valve game came to consoles was Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, which saw a release back in 2012 for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
What do you think – would it make sense for Valve to bring new titles or possible old releases like Left 4 Dead to current generation consoles? Despite the fact that a huge portion of their audience is mostly on PC, the main place where Steam is available? Sound off in the comments below!
