Fire up those phasers and prepare to step into the black gulfs of space to take on enemy polygons. Futuridium: Extended Play Deluxe will launch next Tuesday, September the 30th, for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The title is confirmed to be a cross-buy title, with one version being free when buying the other.
Futuridium is a game in the vein of the very first StarFox game of 1993. Deep in space, a lone starship gets lost and sucked into a black gulf, a space between space. He must face vicious and relentless enemies in his quest to get back home. It’s a psychadelic adventure as the pilot faces enemies, capital ships, and even bosses in a simple, diamond shaped, polygonal visual style.
The game will, according to its post on the PlayStation.Blog, feature 50 whole levels with five new bosses, newly refined gameplay mechanics secret items, and a slew of unlockables, including an extensive list of trophies and medals. Coupled with a pulsating soundtrack, Futuridium seeks to bring back the long-missed days of old-school, white-knuckle, three-dimensional rail shooting, where players needed to keep their visions sharp and their reflexes sharper to dodge fire and take on enemies.
The game was developed by Italy-based Mixed Bag games. Follow them and their game-developing adventures on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, and their main website here.
