Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile shutting down in 2024

Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile

Publisher and developer Square Enix has announced they’re shutting down Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile earlier next year.

The free-to-play smartphone RPG is shutting down on March 29th, 2024 and all in-game purchases have been halted today.

Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile was released back in August of 2022 for iOS (via the App Store) and Android (via Google Play), so the shutdown comes within a year of its release.

The development team said in a letter that while the game received positive feedback on its retelling of the classic anime’s story, they had comments and requests saying the team was unable to meet their needs.

After much discussion and review of the game’s recent updates, the team decided they could no longer maintain the structure of its team and provide better updates in the future.

Lastly, the team noted the original story promised with this game will no longer be able to run to completion, so they’ll continue the new story in a voice drama that will be released from January through March 2024.
