Subset Games (FTL) have revealed their next game, Into the Breach.
The game is essentially what a baby sired from Pacific Rim and Advance Wars would look like. Featured above, you can view the game’s announcement trailer.
You’ll be tasked with fighting off giant kaiju beasts in a bid to save the last bits of humanity. Levels pan out via randomly generated, turn-based battles.
Here are the game’s key features:
- Defend the Cities: Civilian buildings power your mechs. Defend them from the Vek and watch your fire!
- Perfect Your Strategy: All enemy attacks are telegraphed in minimalistic, turn-based combat. Analyze your opponent’s attack and come up with the perfect counter every turn.
- Build the Ultimate Mech: Find powerful new weapons and unique pilots as you battle the Vek infestation across Corporate-Nation islands.
- Another Chance: Failure is not an option. When you are defeated, send help back through time to save another timeline!
FTL composer Ben Prunty is returning to compose the game, accompanied by Chris Avellone – who is handling the script, world themes, and dialogue.
A release date was not announced, however for now you can view the game’s official website.
