Galactic Princess is a very unique kickstarter funded game developed by the team at CECLY, which are based out of France. To put it simply, it’s attempting to make your wildest space captain dreams come true.

Build your own ship, think up any design both inside and outside as you’ll constantly have to be ready to defend yourself and your crew. Your mission is to eventually find and rescue the Galactic Princess, and you’ll have the option to pursue that goal in any means possible, whether that entails piracy, espionage, smuggling drugs, or even piracy.

One of the coolest things about Galactic Princess is the fact that the game will use very little HUD, meaning you’ll be interfacing with things in your ship via your crew more than you will at the player level. This is both an awesome little touch and also another level of difficulty, for example if you have to seal off a corridor that is leaking oxygen out into space, you’ll probably have to send some crew members there to do it themselves.

The story will be a combination of retro-futurism and pop culture, most especially lots of satire and parodying of common science fiction tropes, just in case the main poster art wasn’t enough of a nod to Star Wars posters. Although your captain is already proposed as a pirate and smuggler, you can always choose to go the diplomatic way, although fighting your way through corrupt Spacecops is the quickest route to victory.

Galactic Princess has already met their funding goal of £20,000 pounds within a week or so, but they do some stretch goals in the pipeline. They’ve also been greenlit on Steam already, so now if you want to get a piece of the pie early you’ll just have to back it on kickstarter.
