The developers behind Space Engineers, Keen Software House, are working on yet another engineering game – Medieval Engineers.
Featured above, you can view the debut trailer for the game, which is currently in an alpha state. Medieval Engineers is built within the same engine as Space Engineers, the VRAGE engine, although they’ve made three big upgrades to it: structural integrity, natural landscape and Physically Based Rendering.
Keen Software House are now roughly 40 people strong, although they have three separate teams for both aforementioned games – as well as a secret AI project.
In the game, you’ll be able to construct entire castles, entire cities, deep underground mines, and even siege equipment to destroy other players’ castles. Everything will be grounded in real physics and engineering technologies from the 5th to the 15th century – nothing that wasn’t seen in that period of time will be used.
For now, you can visit the game’s official website, here.
[Editor’s note: the article originally made no mention of the game being made by a separate team from their previous game.]
