From Software: No Plans to End Armored Core Series Right Now, Please Be Patient

Despite the Souls franchise becoming the bread and butter for Japanese developer From Software, many gaming enthusiasts became fans of the studio for their Armored Core franchise, the mecha-action franchise that pioneered an entirely new genre two decades ago.

It’s been several years since the last game, however, the developer hasn’t put the IP to rest just yet.

From Software staff Yasunori Ogura appeared in a 20th anniversary broadcast for the series, in which he said that while he cannot reveal anything at this moment, he said their company has no plans of ending the Armored Core series with its current timeline. He naturally said he hopes fans can be patient for a new game.

The last game in the series, Armored Core: Verdict Day (pictured), was released back in 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Finally, Ogura also confirmed in a separate tweet a 20th anniversary PlayStation 4 theme for Armored Core is being released in Japan on December 5th.
