Not long after returning from a previous hiatus, we’ve learned popular manga Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is going on hiatus again.
Fans eagerly waiting for the latest chapter of the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga, chapter 140, had the new release come this past week in Weekly Shonen Sunday via Shogakukan.
At the end of the new volume came the news that the popular Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga has gone on hiatus once again after returning from a brief couple week hiatus in November. Prior to that, the Frieren manga went on hiatus in August of this year, after stopping in May.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End premiered back in April 2020 by creator and writer Kanehito Yamada, with artwork and illustrations by Tsukasa Abe. The series has been officially released in English by Viz Media and the anime adaptation’s first season is streaming via our friends at Crunchyroll.
The series’ official synopsis reads, “After the party of heroes defeated the Demon King, they restored peace to the land and returned to lives of solitude. Generations pass, and the elven mage Frieren comes face to face with humanity’s mortality. She takes on a new apprentice and promises to fulfill old friends’ dying wishes. Can an elven mind make peace with the nature of life and death? Frieren embarks on her quest to find out.”
While the manga for Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is now on hiatus once again, a second season by MADHOUSE is currently in production – read about that here.
