RocketWerkz have announced Icarus, a free-to-play multiplayer open world survivial craft game promising to focus on survival.
Lead by Dean Hall (creator of DayZ), the game tasks players with exploring a dangerous alien world for exotic resources. While other players can revive you if you run out of oxygen- you truly lose if you miss your dropship off the planet. Make the most of your time, or you will end up empty-handed.
PC Gamer reports that players can meet up with others on their orbiting space station, and choose a mission to undertake. These missions can take anything from 30 minuets to 48 hours- in real time.
The dropship also has a limited capacity, so while you can bring some resources back for upgrades, players will have to choose what they haul back up. This prevents too much high-tech getting down onto the savage world.

Harsh environments demand an envirosuit, regular oxygen, food and water, shelter and constant attention. The wildlife is easily provoked, and your plans may need to change on the fly. Take the resources you find back up to orbit to craft advanced technology for your drop, either with a crew or solo.
