Four New DLC Episodes “The Dawn of the Future” Announced for Final Fantasy XV

Square Enix has announced a few new updates for Final Fantasy XV during a panel at this year’s PAX East.

The game has four new downloadable content episodes planned to be released through 2019. The premise of the new content is to bring “a future everyone longed for.”

Furthermore, the overall theme is an “alternate grand finale” that has the heroes “challenge their fates in order to realize the ideal future they envisioned.”

Here’s a rundown on each episode:

  • Episode I: Ardyn “The Conflict of the Sage” – Winter 2019
  • Episode Side Story: Aranea “The Beginning of the End” – Spring 2019
  • Episode II: Lunafreya “The Choice of Freedom” – Spring 2019
  • Episode III: Noctis “The Final Strike” – Spring 2019

Square Enix also confirmed they’re going to release a standalone version of the game’s multiplayer expansion, Comrades, sometime this summer. An update for the expansion is planned for summer, with another update this winter.

Lastly, a Shadow of the Tomb Raider collaboration is planned.

Final Fantasy XV is currently available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In case you missed it, you should check out our written and video review for the game here.
