Microsoft and developer Playground Game announced Forza Horizon 5 has reached an impressive milestone with accumulating over 20 million players.

News that Forza Horizon 5 topped 20 million players was found over on the game’s Hall of Fame leaderboard, which players can find on the main Horizon Festival site.

This leaderboard shows players’ total scores and compares them against each other. As of right now, there are a total of 20,012,405 players in the Hall of Fame. This continues the line by Microsoft that Forza Horizon 5 is their biggest launch ever.

In fact, the game marked the biggest Xbox launch in history just a mere week after its release, where the game managed to reach over a staggering 10 million downloads a week after launch. This is a number that dwarfs the previous game by 5 times the amount. It was also reported that nearly 1 million had purchased the premium edition to obtain early access for the title.

The latter bit is notable as the premium edition cost $99 for the full version, or $45 as an add-on on top of the base game’s normal price.

More recently, the game has updated its PvP progression which added unlocked badges as well as custom racing. There is also an expansion bundle available on the Xbox store which “includes game expansions when they become available.” It’s likely the first expansion will be announced during the upcoming Microsoft & Bethesda Showcase presentation.

Forza Horizon 5 has been available since November 2021 across Windows PC (via Steam and Microsoft Store), Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The game is also available for Xbox Game Pass for PC, cloud, and consoles.
