Former Imageepoch staff Komura Issei and Kuroki Takashi formed a new development studio called One or Eight.

While they only number five total staff, their first game, Earth Wars, is coming out on Playstation 4 some time this summer, with an Xbox One version coming some time later. Featured above, you can view the debut trailer for the game, as well as find screenshots (via Gamer.ne.jp) below:

Players will be able to defend Earth from an invading force known only as the E.B.E., in the near 2020 future. While the game is a 2D action game, you’ll be fighting through hordes of the monsters that have wiped out most of the countries in the world. You can play as a man or a woman fighting in the special military unit A.N.T.I., a task force designed to combat the invaders.

You can customize your character, although the male character plays differently from the female character in that he is more heavy and armored, and utilizes missiles, and a sword for melee combat. The female character is faster and more adept at maneuvering around her enemies, and she uses both a rifle and a sword.

Dashing in game lets you avoid damage, and you’ll also be able to juggle your enemies in the air, and even finish them off with various special moves. As you progress through levels, you can make new weapons and upgrade your characters.
